Five of the oldest Sports in the World

Many communities in different parts of the world have been brought together because of sporting activities. Field Hockey

The game of Field Hockey can be traced back to the olddays of the Greek culture. The sport started when Greek people engage in some sort of play with a curved stick and a ball. Since then field hockey was embraced by a lot of people in the world.

The modern field hockey rules were invented in England during the 19thcentury. It then spread to some European countries before it found its way to the African continent.

The International Hockey Federation was established. This led to the introduction of the game of Hockey into the Olympics in 1908.

Hurling

Ireland is the home of Hurling. The game of Hurling is mostly played in Ireland and it has been in existence for the past 3000 years. The game has been reported to be the oldest in Ireland. Hurling is played using a stick called Hurley and a ball called sliotar.

The main aim of the game is to score the sliotar ball in the goalpost using the Hurley stick. The game has been documented in the history of sports and its popularity is very massive in Ireland.

Polo

The game of Polo dates back to the Asian Empire. However, the regulations of the game were implemented in India back in 1833. This was several centuries before casino games were regulated.

The game of Polo it might look very difficult to play and to understand. The game is quite enjoyable if you are used to it. The game of polo is played on horses back. The objective is to try and outscore each other by placing a small wooden ball in the goal.
