Eleven Sports secures exclusive Laver Cup rights for Belgium and Portugal

September 20, 2018 by Staff

Eleven Sports has secured live and exclusive rights to the Laver Cup in Belgium and Portugal, as well as non-exclusive rights in Luxembourg.

The annual three-day tennis tournament will see six of the best tennis players from Europe take on six of their counterparts from the rest of the world at the United Center, Chicago, from 21-23 September 2018.

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and captain Bjorn Borg will lead Team Europe, while John Isner, Kevin Anderson and captain John McEnroe will lead Team World.

Tennis fans in Belgium will also be able to cheer on home favourite and world number 11, David Goffin, who will compete for Team Europe.

“We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with the Laver Cup, bringing together legends Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, alongside some other great rivalries from the world of tennis,” said Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, Eleven Sports.

“This is a fantastic addition to our very strong content offering in Belgium, Luxembourg and Portugal, and a wonderful opportunity to showcase more world class sport for the fans in countries where tennis is very popular.”

“We are pleased Eleven Sports continues to support the Laver Cup in Belgium, Luxembourg and Portugal, and extend their partnership with us,” said Steve Zacks, Laver Cup Managing Director.

“Laver Cup allows viewers to watch live tennis like it’s never seen before, when rivals become teammates on our iconic black court. We look forward to broadcasting the second edition of the event to the world.”

Matches are scheduled to begin at noon, 1pm and 7pm (CTD) with fans in Belgium and Portugal able to watch the action LIVE and EXCLUSIVE via ELEVEN SPORTS linear channels. LIVE action will also be available across Eleven’s OTT platforms in Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg.

As well as live matches, additional content including promotional clips, previews and reviews will be available through the ELEVEN SPORTS social media platforms in Belgium and Portugal.
