BT Sport has further boosted its European football line-up by securing the rights to show World Cup champions Germany’s home friendly matches.
The deal excludes matches involving teams from the British Isles and will commence in September with coverage of Germany v Argentina.
The broadcaster has also announced its signing of the DFB Cup, Germany’s equivalent of England’s FA Cup.
News of the signing comes just a day after BT announced it would show up to four exclusively live matches a week from the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Its channels already show a number of key European competitions, including Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1, and, Germany’s Bundesliga.
Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “BT Sport now offers a feast of European football action for fans. Added to Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue , and, Germany’s Bundesliga, today’s announcement gives our viewers a fantastic window into football on the continent.
“Our exclusively live TV coverage of Germany v Argentina will provide an early test of the World Champions’ credentials.”
