The Prodigy’s Hotride has been selected as the soundtrack to BT Sport’s coverage of the 2014 MotoGP World Championship.
The song featured on the band’s 2004 studio album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned and features vocals by actress Juliette Lewis.
It also borrows lyrics from Jimmy Webb’s Up, Up and Away (In My Beautiful Balloon).
BT Sport says it’ll use “various mixes” to open and close MotoGP programmes and before and after breaks.
Keith Flint, lead singer of The Prodigy and owner of newly launched British Supersport Team ‘Traction Control’ will also make an appearance on the channel’s MotoGP Tonight programme.
In addition to live broadcasts of practice and qualifying sessions and races from the FIM MotoGP season, BT says it’ll bring fans “full coverage” of the Moto2 and Moto3 races.
Viewers can use BT Sport’s recently updated app to choose between seven camera views, including four cameras fitted to bikes, a helicopter view and live timing and tracking screens.
Full races and highlights including interviews and features will also be available to watch.
Grant Best, senior channel executive producer BT Sport, said: “It’s a fantastic track from an iconic British band and delivers a variety of powerful hooks and riffs that marries perfectly with the fresh approach to MotoGP coverage we’re planning.”
