BT announces aggressively low price for 4K Ultra HD sports channel

BT has announced that it’s Ultra HD sports channel will be available as part of a TV bundle costing just £15 per month.

For that aggressively low price, customers will receive the BT Sport Ultra HD channel, a new 4K compatible set top box (STB), 47 Premium channels including 13 in HD and a voucher entitling them to up to £500 off an LG 4K UHD TV.

The new channel will launch on August 2 with live coverage of the FA Community Shield match at Wembley between Chelsea and Arsenal.

It’ll also show the first game of the Barclays Premier League when Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, August 8 plus selected live coverage from the UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, Aviva Premiership Rugby and MotoGP.

“We are proud to be innovating and leading the UK TV market with our Entertainment Ultra HD package which offers customers the best in premium TV.”

As with BT’s current line up of set top boxes, the new model has been developed in partnership with YouView, the aerial/broadband hybrid TV platform which BT co-owns alongside the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Channel 5 and TalkTalk.

Customers will need a BT line and the ISP’s Infinity fibre broadband to receive BT Sport Ultra HD.
