Sponsored Video: Bruce Lee in EA Sports’ UFC

June 5, 2014 - Staff

EA_Sports_UFCWith just over two weeks before EA Sports’ first official UFC tie-in game hits stores, the developer has released the latest in its Gameplay Series of videos showcasing elements from the title.

The latest video treats players to a sneak peek at martial arts legend Bruce Lee who appears in the game as a fully playable character.

Lee’s inclusion was announced back in April and follows a deal between EA Games and Bruce Lee, LLC – the company which holds the rights to the Bruce Lee name and likeness.

The company is headed by Lee’s daughter Shannon who in April said she was “so excited about this opportunity to bring my father back to videogames”.

She predicted that both UFC and martial arts fans would “love getting a chance to fulfil a fight fantasy by playing Bruce Lee in the new UFC game.”

Fittingly, the video promoting Lee’s return features Juelz Santana’s The Second Coming.

The game is being developed for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 and is based on EA’s IGNITE engine and early glimpses of the game suggest it’s set to deliver on promises of “unparalleled realism”.

Combatants exhibit a fluid, natural movement with muscles stretching and flexing as they move.

With the release dates of several rival big name titles being pushed back in recent weeks, EA Sport’s UFC is likely to be a welcome and popular release for gamers looking to enjoy the full capabilities of their next-generation games consoles.

UFC is released in June 20th and will be available online, from high street retailers and via download from PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.
